Universal has just dropped the first trailer for The Bourne Legacy, and he did a great job of teasing the film while bridging the gap between present and Ultimatium Bourne, who was the last Bourne movie with Matt Damon tied in the lead role .
This time it is replacing Matt Damon Jeremy Renner, and the trailer tells us just enough to pique our interest - essentially, that there was not one Jason Bourne. Meanwhile, they give us a ton of quick flashes showing off Renner major ass kicked, and the types of government look all parties concerned and other things. Most of the regulars are back Bourne - including Joan Allen and David Strathairn - but they were joined by Rachel Weisz and the villain of the film, Edward Norton, who shows up here for a brief moment.
The trailer does what it's supposed to do: Tease without giving it all away. Sell on Renner's role in a movie Bourne, and show us some of what he is capable of. In our opinion, acting chops are certainly Renner along with Damon, and now we've seen the guy soaking in an action movie or two (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, and the upcoming The Avengers), we are already large fans.
